The Struggle is Real

As other parents know, remote learning means we’re adding another full-time role to our repertoire: teacher. Leland enjoys his 2½ hour synchronous session with Ms. Siedner—but that still demands our presence to ensure he’s not spinning in his chair or building Lego when he should be solving math stories. Thankfully, I only have Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Single parents—there’s a special place in heaven for you!
At least once a week, the struggle is real: Leland wants to deviate from the assignment instructions or interprets them differently. I realize this is normal—he’s taking pride in his independence, creativity and wants flexibility and control of his work. If you have ever emailed or called St. Monica to start, stop, or make a change to your online giving—I’m sorry. It’s a cumbersome, manual process that strips our donors of any flexibility and control. I’m excited to tell you: this is about to change.
GiveCentral powers our new giving platform, and we selected it because our parishioners should be at the center of everything we do. GiveCentral far and away provides the most flexibility and control over how you give, the amount, and when.
If you already have a recurring gift, you’ll be receiving an email next week with migration instructions. Most of your information will be transferred, but since we do not have access to your encrypted financial information, we must ask you to provide this to GiveCentral.
Once logged in, all donors will be able to:
- manage multiple payment methods, including checking accounts (ACH)
- change gift amount and frequency
- use a single transaction to donate to multiple causes and ministries at St. Monica
Your generosity is vital in allowing St. Monica to serve, support, and sustain our community. Help sustain St. Monica to be here when you need it—and also to serve and support others in the meantime. Thank you for all the gifts you offer that make us #StillStMonica.
